Speaker 0 00:00:00 Ladies and job, you're listening to the fantasy alarm, lb DFS podcasting with host John IBA and James Grande.
Speaker 1 00:00:10 What is going on a nation, John and PEBA here with James Grande. This is the quick pitch, MLB DFS podcast recording here for Wednesdays nine game, a main slate kicking off at 7 0 5 Eastern PM. We do have an early slate as well. If you have any questions on that, please get us in the discord to be more than happy to assist with your lineup construction. But as always, we focus on the main slate here. We got draft Kings and fando open in front of James man. How we doing?
Speaker 2 00:00:36 Doing good should be a nice eight or nine game slate depending on which set you're playing on. And I think both Vandal
Speaker 1 00:00:42 Vandals have only given us eight on their main slate. So yeah.
Speaker 2 00:00:45 Yeah, it should be a fun slate. Honestly. Like at this point, I think anything under 10 games is really where I'm, I've been best at rating the board and been my most successful nights this year that said it is nine games or eight games with course field on, on tap. As we're getting a ton of runs scored on Tuesday night. I almost said Wednesday considering I thought, or my fiance said it was Wednesday all day today. And then it wasn't, but yeah, should be a good slate. And I'm looking forward to it, John.
Speaker 1 00:01:17 Yep. So the game we're missing over on Fandel is the white Sox and the Royals game for not included over on Vandal. So we'll be mindful of that as we discussed the player pool, let's jump into it though. We talked about the plethora of starting pitching here on for Tuesday's slate Wednesday. They have some guys, but it's really top loaded again. And then we were really, I think searching first of value, couple targets that come to mind, but we'll hit there when we get there top price pitchers on the slate, but he had adjusted Verlander and Sandy Alcan Tara up over 10 K. Then Ryan was at PPO. Is that how we're going with this name here? Pep PPO. I don't know. I'll never good with names. You all know that. I don't know why he is, but he's $10,300 as well. That's your draft? King's top three, up over 10 K over on fan Verlander. And Alara over 11. Cal Wright is over 10 K
Speaker 2 00:02:07 So pep PIO.
Speaker 1 00:02:08 Peppi tell me this PIO fine is 6,200 on Fandel and he is $10,300 on draft can,
Speaker 2 00:02:16 If you wanna know who is geared up for football, football, and who's not, who is just replacing, okay. This was supposed to be clay Kershaw crap. We forgot to change it. So let's just put, let's just put Peppi out here. Let's
Speaker 1 00:02:30 Just keep him at the same price. Why not?
Speaker 2 00:02:31 Hopefully nobody realizes. Yeah, let's just all right. Let's hit submit then. Good to go. Verlander Alara Peppi yeah, no one will notice. I think that was kind of the conversation internally, but um, if
Speaker 1 00:02:42 They're you're giving them too much credit, there probably was no internal conversation. Some interns fair fair. Just did a hot swap and was like, we're good to go.
Speaker 2 00:02:49 Fair. That's probably shit. I should have changed this a week ago. Can't do anything about it now. <laugh> yeah. I mean definitely AIS, definitely an on Verlander and Alara on draft.
Speaker 1 00:03:00 Sandy's pitching against the Phillies from the ninth time. It feels like, let me start to it against them is gonna be his fourth. He has dominated them
Speaker 2 00:03:06 Well to his standards. No, cause his standards is sub two era, a apparently every verse, everyone else,
Speaker 1 00:03:13 He did take a tough loss there. The other day, ings touring 12 strikeouts on his last time they faced him.
Speaker 2 00:03:18 I mean, the guy is, the guy has been spectacular.
Speaker 1 00:03:22 Hasn't allowed more than two runs in any of the three starts so far.
Speaker 2 00:03:25 He's he is a different, he's cut from a different cloth. We could just say that like he is how many complete games this year is four one. Yeah,
Speaker 1 00:03:32 Just through 1, 3, 2, just do a complete game. Shutout against the Red's only three strikeouts. How much this may have all of the over takers on a strikeout prop that day.
Speaker 2 00:03:41 But you to that in that regard, yes. R I P to, to your potential winnings, but like the, like in terms of DFS, I guess he would be the one guy I'm not overly concerned about strikeouts, right? Because he got 31 fantasy points because he had a complete game shutout each complete game. I mean 31, 23, 36 fantasy points. I guess one of them wasn't a complete game. Did he throw nine innings? And they went extras. Yeah,
Speaker 1 00:04:12 Possibly
Speaker 2 00:04:13 He threw a nine inning shutout against Washington on June 8th. And it was not a complete game because they went into extra game <laugh> so he technically only has three complete games, but he's like the one guy I'm not like overly concerned about the strikeout. Cause what did we talk about John? We talked about it. I don't know what I guess. I don't know what Brax and Garrett finished with, but the nationals or the Phillies rather weren't striking out a whole bunch against lefthanded pitchers over the last month, I guess over the last month, 20 a 23.3% care rate verse varieties is a little worse. So I guess there is some strikeout upside, but the Phillies have been like kind of better against the, in terms of strikeout lately. So could be another down game, FRA Alcon Tara in that department.
Speaker 1 00:05:00 Sure. Let's go to the next tier below. We got Kyle right against Boston, Johnny Cueto against Kansas city, sunny, gray drawing the Dodgers, not a match, but I think we're gonna be looking at there. And then Nick Veta on draftings is 8,300. That's your nine K to eight K right?
Speaker 2 00:05:14 I mean, Kyle Wright in theory is okay, but Boston seems to have a little thump back, but the shake out a lot, I've said that to you tonight. Yep. Or I said that to you earlier in the day, when I saw Charlie Morton strikeout prop at five and a half and it mainly had to do with Charlie Morton also striking out a whole bunch of guys. He had 32% strikeout rate in his last 11 start, but Boston over the last month, 26.8% K rate third highest in the league against right handed pitching. And they struck out seven times against Morton. We know Kyle Wright can strike guys out. It's obviously a little worrisome that he allowed four home runs against the Mets. His last time out and well, let's see. 4, 6, 9 home runs in his last five starts overall. That's a little concerning when, when you're facing Boston 13 and five on the year, 124 strikeouts and 128 innings. I think there's some upside there. I know Johnny Cueto has been weirdly good. Still not gonna pay $9,100 for him not playing honey gray.
Speaker 1 00:06:11 Greg's the only guy in this range I would look at.
Speaker 2 00:06:13 Yeah, I agree. And I'm Fandel MIDT. Oh Kyle Wright. 10 Ford disrupt.
Speaker 1 00:06:18 Yeah. Yeah. Baros I guess is probably where we would go.
Speaker 2 00:06:22 Yeah, Barios in a good pitcher's park.
Speaker 1 00:06:24 Yeah. He's much cheaper on draftings Barios $7,300.
Speaker 2 00:06:28 What's Keller 66 Keller is 85 on Fandel. I don't hate that. Based on like recent performances from Mitch Keller. Only
Speaker 1 00:06:37 One strikeout last
Speaker 2 00:06:38 Time out, but it was weird. The strikeouts are, have been down. The last two starts quality starts in five straight games. I wonder what his out. I wonder what his outs prop is gonna be.
Speaker 1 00:06:46 That's a good question. If it's under, under 18 though, probably looking good to get the over.
Speaker 2 00:06:51 I mean, Arizona against righties over the last month. 20th and ops. Yeah. And 19th. And WOBA so just thrown out there. I don't obviously Keer 66 more, but I don't also hate Keer 85 on Vandal. Okay.
Speaker 1 00:07:07 Um, so Barios is the cheap guy for me. I don't really like anybody else. I know. I know Baumgardner lefthanded pitcher against Pittsburgh. I get it.
Speaker 2 00:07:15 Yeah, I know.
Speaker 1 00:07:16 He's
Speaker 2 00:07:17 Just not, when you called it, you said it last. What weren't we talking about
Speaker 1 00:07:20 This? Yeah. He's dude. He is all of his underlying numbers are horrible.
Speaker 2 00:07:24 10 hits, 10 hits this last start.
Speaker 1 00:07:27 15 hits in his last two games. Not eight earned runs. I'm telling. Okay. How about this guy is falling on mad bump? The problem is that Pittsburgh does strike out a lot. They're not at all. They're very bad against Lovett pitching. So it's like, what is worse? Mad bum here or Pittsburgh versus lovey
Speaker 2 00:07:42 Could you obviously from a
Speaker 1 00:07:44 Oh guys are also very good at home this year, 3, 3, 1 era.
Speaker 2 00:07:49 From a prop standpoint, you can't do this, but like you could stack against him. If you're playing multiple lineups, you could just do both. Sure. Like you could hedge and say he's been bad lately and he's not missing bats. Two strikeouts in last two games. Granted, Colorado righty, heavy lineup. And at Atlanta, not the right best two matchups in the world, but he had nice strikeouts against Washington. What if outlier? That is
Speaker 1 00:08:15 Yeah. A team that not sure can't strike out. Mad bone gets mad.
Speaker 2 00:08:19 <laugh> I think you head, I think you hedge because you can play mad bum. Like I'm not touching props with mad bum. I'm not, I think that's like a complete stay away. But in DFS,
Speaker 1 00:08:31 I, I mentioned the 3 31 era at home. That's matched with a 4, 6, 7 xFi, so
Speaker 2 00:08:37 Right. And he had a bad home. His last start against Colorado was at home. Yeah. Regression is it's here, John.
Speaker 1 00:08:43 I agree with you. All right. Let's get a catcher.
Speaker 2 00:08:46 Whoa. You're just gonna skip over like Dean Kramer versus the blue Jays like that
Speaker 1 00:08:52 Dude.
Speaker 2 00:08:52 Yep. Okay. Yep. I am. Depending on a word on Aaron Le I would play him against the tigers for the record. Would you if there's yeah. Coming off,
Speaker 1 00:09:03 But I just worry that he is coming off. I don't like pitching guys off the IO,
Speaker 2 00:09:06 So I'm not like you're not wrong. Six and a third scoreless against the tigers earlier in the year, we know the tigers struggle against right-handed pitch. Right-handed pitching,
Speaker 1 00:09:15 He only threw three innings in his four innings in his last rehab start.
Speaker 2 00:09:20 It's a wrist. I don't know. That's what I'm saying. Like he, and even draftings like the note here from Chris ES inheimer of the Elra Chronicle telegram here on draftings says he may be on a pitch count. We'll see if he's, if we get a report that there's no pitch count or 90 plus pitches, I would actually have interest in some capacity, 6,500 on both sites. I believe. So. Tournament only play. Detroit's just that like their offense is just that bad and they haven't really improved, I guess, 19th and op PS against righties over last month is something to write home about. Cuz it's better than it was, but still not really encouraging there.
Speaker 1 00:09:59 Okay. Now can we go to catcher?
Speaker 2 00:10:01 Yeah, sure. Sorry.
Speaker 1 00:10:02 Okay. Where do you wanna go?
Speaker 2 00:10:03 I did. I was, I was, I didn't know if you were leading the dance there. Eli SD is, gets lefty. In course he's been really bad of late, but we know he's good against lefties. We know he is good at home, so I would go there. Sal's hitting a whole bunch of home runs since returning. You can play him in tournaments on draftings. If you wanna fade Jose Barios Adley Ruman continues to hit and just get on base a whole bunch, almost a 500 BP over his last 10 games. We'll William Contreras, a whole speed demo in there. Hit a triple 10 way tonight. Veto we know has kind of regressed. So I think those would probably be my
Speaker 1 00:10:39 Above. They got a 2100 Yachty Molina in cos against Freeland.
Speaker 2 00:10:43 Yeah. They started Kinser tonight. Didn't they? So Yachty should firmly be back in that lineup. 19 runs in that game tonight. So if he faded cores, I'm sorry. He probably, yeah. Andrew Kiner has a two run single. Hey, so we should see yadi back in the lineup. So yeah. That's gonna be your that's your cash game play
Speaker 1 00:11:06 Probably right? Your punting catch might not get cos in exposure.
Speaker 2 00:11:09 Yeah. Cuz you could also, if you want your cos exposure, but you want ver or elk Canara you could also just play them both punt Yachty at $2,100 and $3,800 for rest of your lineup is a reasonable.
Speaker 1 00:11:24 Yeah. There's more value that we'll find for sure. Right? First base you got Goldie cores. Obviously get a lefty. You gonna love that match
Speaker 2 00:11:30 Form. Whoa. Yeah. That's yeah,
Speaker 1 00:11:32 We're gonna, we're gonna sucker ourselves into some white Sox here on drafting. Right? Boob bitch lefty going up against the white Sox lineup.
Speaker 2 00:11:39 Oh John, please. No,
Speaker 1 00:11:41 We're in, we're already in no Tim Anderson, but it doesn't matter. We're already in oh Jose bra. You Andrew. Vaughn's got outfield eligibility.
Speaker 2 00:11:49 Have you lost? Who have you lost? I mean, I don't know if I've lost more money on the white Sox or the, the twins this year. You definitely, I don't think you've played the twins as much as I have.
Speaker 1 00:11:58 No, I play a lot of tigers though. And that usually doesn't always
Speaker 2 00:12:01 Work. Yeah, you do play. Why are we playing the hail central? <laugh> what is wrong with this? This is our number one issue right here.
Speaker 1 00:12:08 Yeah. The tigers are just always so cheap
Speaker 2 00:12:09 And I know it's
Speaker 1 00:12:11 So cheap. Its paid off finally when they beat up man Nile, like I said they would, but that was about
Speaker 2 00:12:15 It. John, do you want hear some BVP real quick? Sure. Against Chris Boober I don't think you're this very much.
Speaker 1 00:12:20 She just shuts them down.
Speaker 2 00:12:22 I don't think you're girls this very much. Do you want me to just run through
Speaker 1 00:12:24 Doesn't matter. I'm playing 'em anyways. So go ahead. See me the feed me the medicine. All
Speaker 2 00:12:27 Right. Jose bra two hits in 16 at bats. Yep. Yani Grande two for eight Eloy Jimenez. Oh for 14 Yon Manata oh for 10 Louis Robert. Oh for
Speaker 1 00:12:42 So they're all due is what you're
Speaker 2 00:12:44 Saying. Uh, Andrew VA three for six with a home run.
Speaker 1 00:12:46 This reminds me of when Chris young, formally of the Royals as well, used to shut down the tigers when they had Victor Martinez and Miguel Cabrera. And just that like world series, contending team tigers, Chris young was might as well have been Nolan Ryan against that lineup. <laugh> I lost more money. Sacking tigers against Chris young and I would watch him throw seven shutout with nine strikeouts. I'm like what is happening? Miguel Cabrera won the triple crown. So
Speaker 2 00:13:12 6 11, 6, 11, Chris young. Yeah, just the ball is at the plate when it, when he releases it because he's stretch Armstrong.
Speaker 1 00:13:21 It's wild. The numbers that he had against them. But so yeah. So I fine.
Speaker 2 00:13:26 You know what ignoring all BVP.
Speaker 1 00:13:28 I don't even, you know what BVP, that's not a lot of sample size. Right? Small sample size there. I'm just gonna keep
Speaker 2 00:13:35 Talking yourself. I do it. Keep going.
Speaker 1 00:13:36 Pretending it doesn't exist. Sure. Okay. Yeah. Matt Olson. 4,800 against. Sure. I like that. I like that a lot. UHR against Canton in Colorado. Probably be popular.
Speaker 2 00:13:45 Yep. Sure.
Speaker 1 00:13:46 After that though. I mean, I guess we go back to, I'd still play Mancini just in general.
Speaker 2 00:13:51 Fine. Yeah. We've talked about this split. This is a, this is our reverse split for us. Yeah. We've talked about the split a bunch. Glen Otto is a reverse splits pitcher. Yep.
Speaker 1 00:14:00 Good, good. And that's probably it for me.
Speaker 2 00:14:02 I would take a stab at nailer at 4k against Hutchson but okay. I'm I largely agree. I don't. I guess you can play Yuli girl Goel as well. At first, if you're just going full stack, considering the reverse split nature of that matchup and then Mount castle against baros. If you wanna go there too, or those offenses look pretty good the last couple days.
Speaker 1 00:14:22 Sure. All right. Let's go on over to the value. Is there, I mean, we talked about some value. Is there anybody else that you want you go second? You said Mount castle. Is there anybody else jumping out to
Speaker 2 00:14:31 You? Let's Tino Homer tonight. Sure. If you wanna go there.
Speaker 1 00:14:34 Yeah. That's Chavis. If he's in lineup at two K he's played. I play tonight. It's mad. Bum.
Speaker 2 00:14:39 Yeah. He's I guess he's been a little better lately too, right? Yeah. And we know he just hits lefties though.
Speaker 1 00:14:43 Just his lefties. All right. Second base ATU base at the top of 53 ghetto Marte at 5k Ren Rogers lefty. Coors. That's like a bingo
Speaker 2 00:14:51 Card. Five hits. I think he's five for yeah. Five or four for four tonight.
Speaker 1 00:14:56 Yeah. Yeah. That's the bingo card. Yep. If you want to go there, you certainly can. Mid-tier anybody jumping off the page to you?
Speaker 2 00:15:03 No one jumping off the page. I mean we like Tommy Edmond's price, I think, but he's been kind of bad Jimenez, I think would probably be an interesting play. Five stolen bases over his last 10 games. Who is this guy? Love it. Yeah. And now 12 of him runs in 12 stolen bases on the year, suddenly 15, 15 on the year. That'd be a solid year. So Jimenez probably 4,200 is probably the best mid tier play.
Speaker 1 00:15:28 Yep. I'm with you there. I'm trying to see if anybody else for value. I mean, we generally like the Theia brothers there. So if you wanna play your Ramon, you could that's it though for me.
Speaker 2 00:15:38 I mean Kevin BI, if you're going against Kramer, some good PVP for the blue Jays against Kramer, righties have a lot success against them. That's probably it though. I'm with you.
Speaker 1 00:15:51 All right. Everybody's favorite position. Third base. Yeah. Ramirez gets hundreds. Endeavors gets right. Riley gets Veta. Anato gets Freeland. Bregman gets auto Chapman gets Kramer.
Speaker 2 00:16:02 I'd literally play 'em all right. Like I'd actually not keep any of them. I'm unfortunately on the playbook. I don't know how I'm not gonna have six, third basement over 5k on my or five on my, in the playbook. How, who do you keep off that list? Who's who's off the island.
Speaker 1 00:16:18 Probably Bregman.
Speaker 2 00:16:20 I don't know. He's reverse splits.
Speaker 1 00:16:22 I reverse splits and he he's hitting really well, but
Speaker 2 00:16:25 I mean, they're both, he's a reverse splits hitter this year and Otto is a reverse splits pitcher this year. I, I like, I don't necessarily disagree, but like I
Speaker 1 00:16:35 Who my core is Riley or our
Speaker 2 00:16:36 Not of sure. We both should have said the Riley home run call. We both did not say the Riley home run call against rich chill. And that was a mistake.
Speaker 1 00:16:47 Who'd I even say, I don't even remember.
Speaker 2 00:16:49 I mean, we didn't say Austin Riley. That's all that really
Speaker 1 00:16:51 Matters. I get cheapy. Oh I did. You
Speaker 2 00:16:53 Said Eric hoer oh, Luke boy. Yeah. You did say Luke boy.
Speaker 1 00:16:56 What did Washington do today?
Speaker 2 00:16:58 KET Ruiz had two home runs. All right. Not Luke white.
Speaker 1 00:17:01 Can't win. 'em all. Can't all. So that's the top tier. Please just spend up at third base. But if you're choosing not to spend up at third base, I got nothing for you. I don't know what to tell you. Just spend up and
Speaker 2 00:17:12 Up. Yeah. Just
Speaker 1 00:17:13 Spend up up. I don't know. Does any of this mid-tier appeal to you? Maybe Bobby Whit in 46.
Speaker 2 00:17:18 Shout out Bobby Whit. Now third base eligibility out of the clouds.
Speaker 1 00:17:22 Justin in Turner's been hitting well
Speaker 2 00:17:24 Just off he's coming just off
Speaker 1 00:17:25 The I, he was hitting well he's coming off the IL. Yeah.
Speaker 2 00:17:27 I would probably skip the mid tier and then go like led miss 37 cab. Brian Hayes. If we wanna stack against mad bum cab, Brian Hayes has only hit lefties. Like exclusively has hit lefties this year. Brian Hayes, Christian
Speaker 1 00:17:43 Royal had a huge game for Boston tonight and how
Speaker 2 00:17:45 That's crazy.
Speaker 1 00:17:46 And he is got hits. Look at me, look at his recent games. Right? He's been, he is been productive. He's
Speaker 2 00:17:51 Too. Yeah, I'm okay with that. And I think another value would be, I said him. Yes. I said him on yesterday's podcast. Ellie hubris from the Rockies 2,700 lefty matchup here. 3 24 over his last 10 games. Sounds
Speaker 1 00:18:05 Good to me. All right. Shortstop position Swanson, probably 47. You could pay up for Trey if you want.
Speaker 2 00:18:11 I was just say, we think what are that's what? That was gonna be my question to you. Are we, I mean, sunny Gray's been good this year, so it's kind of one of those situations where it's like, he's been good, but the Dodgers are also good. So we're kind of like respecting sunny, gray a little bit.
Speaker 1 00:18:27 I'd take. Yeah, I just, it's not for me. I think Dan's where I start Bette. We talked about it. Its too cheap for actually slate. 44
Speaker 2 00:18:34 Doubles too cheap. Double, double down.
Speaker 1 00:18:36 Yep. So 4,500. I'll go back. I'll go back to Kramer. Right? Right. East splits.
Speaker 2 00:18:41 Yep. Righty splits.
Speaker 1 00:18:42 Yep. Give some of that KAA 44 Jose Lacey with a lefty to 4,300. My boy.
Speaker 2 00:18:48 And then just let's drop down. Just get it outta the way. H and Paul Deon 35 34. But I don't think
Speaker 1 00:18:54 No, Darren, Fletcher's not on the slate so we can't go there. And outfield ORs is your top race guy.
Speaker 2 00:18:59 61.
Speaker 1 00:19:01 Yeah. I guess Sandy. Good luck.
Speaker 2 00:19:03 What
Speaker 1 00:19:03 The, not me. You are down at 59 though. I like that. Yep. I told you already I'm playing the white Sox. You can't make me not. So 5k Lewis, Robert I'll sync with the Titanic. I'm okay with that. A Kuya 49.
Speaker 2 00:19:15 I think he's stole another base tonight.
Speaker 1 00:19:17 Yeah, they they're pulling ahead and over and actually things right now. So largely on his back.
Speaker 2 00:19:23 I, he is definitely the, like the twins white Sox are the two teams that I can never get. The Braves are, are Ronald like nine 70.
Speaker 1 00:19:31 He's only heading 2 67 on the year. So it's not like he's having a big season.
Speaker 2 00:19:34 So it's just so hard. Yeah. But he also has those games where he gets two hits and then steals the base and it's like, all right, 25 fantasy points out of the cloud. Like, all right, dude, the last eight times I played you doesn't equal 25 fantasy points.
Speaker 1 00:19:47 Uh, mid tier guys. Sure.
Speaker 2 00:19:51 Fam Homer tonight, John.
Speaker 1 00:19:52 He did Homer. I think he has a double too.
Speaker 2 00:19:54 He has home run two straight games now.
Speaker 1 00:19:56 Yep. He'll always at 43.
Speaker 2 00:19:58 Oh for 10. By the way against Chris bow. Hey it's
Speaker 1 00:20:01 All right.
Speaker 2 00:20:01 Throwing that nugget in there.
Speaker 1 00:20:02 Turn it around. Brian Reynolds. He mentioned yesterday against the left of you got Matt BU here at 4k. Yep. Dylan Carlson versus the lefty. That's the split we like seeing for K Ram.
Speaker 2 00:20:10 Yeah. He'll hit. He'll hit second. They'll hit him second in this line.
Speaker 1 00:20:15 Up here. Rally greens at 39 Pollock against the left. He's generally been pretty good.
Speaker 2 00:20:19 Like both of those guys. Yep. We get the Mancini outfield eligibility as well. Yep.
Speaker 1 00:20:24 Jacob McCarthy
Speaker 2 00:20:25 Stolen base monster
Speaker 1 00:20:26 3,100.
Speaker 2 00:20:28 I don't hate it. If he's gonna get on and steal bases again. Like he's just, it's not like a massive upside play, but four stolen bases. A lot. His last 10 games he gets on, I hit a stolen base and a run 10 points. We talked about that with Mateo earlier in the year. Right when he was like $3,000, every slate, he was like, like if har Mateo gets on deals, the base scores,
