Speaker 0 00:00:00 Ladies and John, you're listening to the Fantasy Alarm LB DFS podcast with host John Iba and James Grande. Speaker 1 00:00:10 What's going on Nation? John I PMA here with James Grande is the Quick pitch LB DFS podcasts in live stream recording here or four Thursday's, four game afternoon slate starting at 1:00 PM. Uh, James, we took a minor vacation here. I know there's only a couple of days left Basically in the MLB season, I think we have about a week to go for MLB DFS before the playoffs you got married last weekend. I went out there so we had a little bit of a little hiatus on the stream in podcast the last couple of days, but we're back refreshed. And a quick little four gamer where the top price pitcher is Lucas Gito who has been <laugh> Dog Water for the majority of the season. We talk about it all the time. These short slates can be pretty gross when it comes to pitching, especially on two pitcher sites like Draft Kings and Yahoo. And that is what we have here today, Sir. Speaker 2 00:01:01 Yeah, first off it was great to you know, have you at the wedding and we were able to catch up afterwards, get some coffee the next morning too. I sent you some uh, hopefully a good bagel shop as well. Shout Speaker 1 00:01:13 Out, got some nice New York bagels was Speaker 2 00:01:14 Great. So that was nice. And shout out to Aaron Judge who also just hit home run number 61 and then shout out to all those in Florida. Hopefully staying safe due the hurricane tonight into Thursday and into Friday as well. So just couple notes before cuz it's gonna be a quick podcast so just you know, some quick, some quick notes John. But uh, yeah, happy to be back A little four gamer, definitely a hiatus when you get married. I don't know for all those that don't, you don't really look at your, at the fan grafts page is too much on, they were not in my vow book. I did not see them when I was reading off my vows this weekend. So it Speaker 1 00:01:47 Really feels like a missed opportunity to start rattling off some ex FIPs there while you're know you're talking about it, right? It's like Speaker 2 00:01:53 I told could have told my now wife why Joha Tony might win the MVP over Aaron Judge Speaker 1 00:01:57 And it's like sure, you know your one for eight for taking out the trash but like your, you know, your xFi of taking out the trash is really like, you know four 80, you know like you're good. You know like the odds of them doing there is all the same. So anyways, joking aside, this will be quick four games like I mentioned. Look at, she's the top price pitcher here. We talked about it before. He's been very difficult to play. I know lately he has been okay nine tri cuts against Detroit. Last time was good but it was, you know, it's against Detroit. I know he just faced Minnesota six inning, our five innings there, two earn runs. It's okay. Right. You know, look at his recent games. He's only had two games over 15 fantasy points. Obviously one of them the most recent nine k are you paying nine K for Gedo here? I mean it's, he just hasn't, he just hasn't been very trustworthy this season obviously by his 5 0 5 era and the one five whip. Speaker 2 00:02:54 I mean I'm not against it. I think I've said look I've said it all long, like all year long him and Lance Lynn have been very unlucky this year. I think the White Sox, as soon as they fired Tony Russa will be in better hands in the mojo and everything's going to, didn't really just be better for them next year. I think this team has too much talent to not even potentially finish over 500. Right. Gelato for what it's worth has been significantly better on the road this year. 3 84 era compared to 6 43 at home, less home runs and in and more innings and he's six and two on the road, you know, four and seven at home. He has pitched fairly well against Minnesota three, three era 17 fantasy points per game and the strikeouts have been there as well. So Speaker 1 00:03:36 The one, the nearly one seven whip is what worries me there, right 10 its and nine innings only but been able fortunate enough to only allow three runs there. Speaker 2 00:03:44 Sure. And it's definitely thanks to like very good strikeout output. He's definitely been putting twins on and then just striking people out to follow. So he, Speaker 1 00:03:55 He struggles against the top half of the line. He gets to the bottom half of the line happy he Speaker 2 00:03:59 Said something mos him down. Yeah, I mean it's definitely, I'm definitely with you where it's like slightly concerning but you just, we just kind of have to take a stance somewhere. Sure. Right. There's just nobody Speaker 1 00:04:10 You got a returning Aldi but he could be limited on the pitch count Minnesota 24th laying for anything. But Speaker 2 00:04:17 I mean neither are I think everyone on this slate. Is anyone playing for anything? The Phillies the only team playing for anything. Baltimore is technically not eliminated Minnesota 24th and Ops in September against Righties. So yeah I'll be, I'm in on Gito. Hopefully he finishes season strong. Speaker 1 00:04:34 Rangers war has probably chalk on this slate Speaker 2 00:04:37 Probably. Yeah, he's been pretty good. He's Speaker 1 00:04:39 Been the best pitch on the slate most likely. You know, you've always had moments. Iro gets Kansas City couple good starts for him the last two times out both against the White Sox, you know Kansas City, we know it hasn't been all that great. Maybe Ed Edward Rodriguez is a look here. Speaker 2 00:04:54 Yeah, I'm with you. I think IRO is a play 17th and ops in the month of September against Leftees for Kansas City Top half league. I guess in average in Wobo though 17th. So bottom half the leagues. Yeah I can get behind some Murran. I think both you and I think he's a better pitcher than what he has. Speaker 1 00:05:15 Something was going on with him this year. I don't know what it was but Speaker 2 00:05:18 Yeah. Yeah. And do we even know what the like the absence was like? Speaker 1 00:05:22 I don't know. Well I don't remember seeing what it was about. So Speaker 2 00:05:25 It was like an undisclosed absence that he just was out for right And then he returned and then so yeah I think this is another spot for him to continue his Yeah, Speaker 1 00:05:35 Missed almost three months with Sunday. So Speaker 2 00:05:37 Or with with something, right? Like Speaker 1 00:05:39 Catch your position. Short slate actually for being a small slates. Some decent options. Real Muto Sal Wilson Contreras against the lefty if you wanted to go against Juez, Ruman against Aldi Better has a lefty Yon go against Juez if you want to go that. So not awful Catcher spots, of course Reese McGuire or Conor Wong, whatever one you want to go there. All those guys are in play. Speaker 2 00:06:02 Yeah, I think every single one of those guys are in play. And then when it comes to value, where you going John? Like Speaker 1 00:06:08 Oh I said the Red Sox Speaker 2 00:06:10 Probably just the Red Sox guys, right? Whoever Speaker 1 00:06:12 Con Wong didn't have a hit the other day. We had two rbis, two walks, you know, bases loaded walks for and sacrifices for Con Long and then recent why just keeps doing recent wire things. He homer off Gar Cole. He had two homers in that series against the Yankees and you know, some power there though one of his home runs was was the unicorn. It was only a home run in Yankee stadium, the only park baseball that would've been a home run. So that's your catcher spot. First base. What are you thinking? Speaker 2 00:06:36 I mean you could play Abra or I mean actually I don't really want to play Abra. He's just really no upside this year. There's been no power. Reese Hoskins is home run or bust kind of Speaker 1 00:06:48 Guy. Generally better against lefties, generally Speaker 2 00:06:50 Better lefties, Speaker 1 00:06:51 Lefties Speaker 2 00:06:52 Castle. Mount Castle has been kind of raking lately. Not that he's hit for any power, but four straight double digit fantasy point games, 3 75 average over his last 10 in Fenway. So like definitely a bump there because we're away from uh, the most impossible park to hit in from right-handed batters. Now in Baltimore, which I Speaker 1 00:07:13 We're just gonna play Cassis 2200. Speaker 2 00:07:16 Yeah true. Cas is three Speaker 1 00:07:18 Hits at a home or the other. I don't know what he's got going on tonight, if he's even in their lineup. But hits now in a five of the last 6, 2, 3 home runs. In those six games. Speaker 2 00:07:27 There was some worry, right? Wasn't was Boston the Boston faithful talking like kind of wild, right? Speaker 1 00:07:33 That wasn't Red Sox fans, that was like Yankee fans comparing him to other people. Speaker 2 00:07:38 Well they shouldn't. He's one for one with two walks tonight. So he's reached basically another, Speaker 1 00:07:43 He's a walking machine. He's got 14 walks to 16 strikeouts since he's been called up in 20 games. So like pretty, Speaker 2 00:07:50 Pretty Speaker 1 00:07:50 Good. Yeah. One to one walk guy basically. Yeah. Last 10 games, eight walks of six strikeouts. He, he works counts. He's got three home, almost a thousand ops over the last 10 games. Two 50. And Speaker 2 00:08:00 The average is, and the average is coming around. Well the average is coming around. Another hit Speaker 1 00:08:03 Tonight dude. He's a, he's listen, he's an elite pitch. He's an elite. Elite hitter, right? An elite hit tool. Ton of power. We talked about this with Brian Beo, look at Brian Beo September stats, he's got a substitute era, guys been un hittable, right? And we talked about that when he got called up. How just unlucky he had been in that first call up stint of his and since he's come off the IL six starts now under two E in September it's been, he's been, or in August, September rather. He is just been lights out. So Red Sox guy start to come around but Cas is on this lady. The 2200 feels like a chalk play. Yeah. Just given the options there. Second base, a lot of the top guys that are on the injur list, he's Speaker 2 00:08:36 Disgusting John. It has disgusting. Yeah, Speaker 1 00:08:39 No, no where you would want to go here Speaker 2 00:08:41 Nick Gordon 2,800 is probably like the first and last Speaker 1 00:08:47 You're probably, honestly you're right. You're probably just locking in Nick. Let's just get this outta the way now, right? We're gonna play Cas. Speaker 2 00:08:53 Here's the problem though. We're Speaker 1 00:08:55 Playing Nick Gordon. Yeah, I'm listening. Speaker 2 00:08:57 We now are playing Nick Gordon. We are basically saying we're not playing Gedo. Speaker 1 00:09:03 Yes. That's basically what we're saying. I think we're playing and Juez Speaker 2 00:09:07 That's Speaker 1 00:09:08 Fine. I think that's, I think that may be the pitching we go but also on a slate like this, Gedo isn't throwing shutouts, right? So Nick Gordon can hit a home run and that'd still be okay if we want Speaker 2 00:09:18 Anyone else. I mean Harold Castro has three straight, three hit games. Yeah, Speaker 1 00:09:23 Could Speaker 2 00:09:24 Be. I'm just, I'm trying to scrape something else. I don't know if there is anything else. David Bok, Speaker 1 00:09:30 I'm following Harold Castro. That's cool. Yeah, Bo's back up Guy hits lefties. We know that Speaker 2 00:09:36 Eight 20 ops over us last 10 like, Speaker 1 00:09:39 But Nick Gordon's like we but we like Nick Gordon. Speaker 2 00:09:42 No we, no we've been suggesting Nick Gordon when it's been like big slates, we'll Speaker 1 00:09:46 See what, we'll see what the lineup comes out to. But I got cast as Gordon in there for now works third base to have devils as your top price guy. Speaker 2 00:09:53 $6,000 almost Speaker 1 00:09:55 Huh? Yeah, it was a big sad last night even though he had two hits and two rbis, he could have had our, had bases loaded opportunity early in the game and didn't come through Gunner though at 3,800. Speaker 2 00:10:04 Struggling. Struggling right now. Yeah Speaker 1 00:10:06 He homed two nights ago but you know overall you're right. That's about the only thing he's done since thens. See Nick Eaton maybe 3 21, 8 0 4 6 stolen bases last 10 games. It is 11 on the mountain though. It's Speaker 2 00:10:20 A lot of stolen bases Speaker 1 00:10:21 For is a lot Soul bases. 11 stolen bases and 37 games for Nick Eat or Nate Eaton Speaker 2 00:10:25 Rather. Is he going to be like the everyone's like you're gonna see early draft season like sneaky 30 stolen base guy and everyone's just gonna say Nick eaten next draft season for sure. Speaker 1 00:10:37 Hunter Dozier 2 81, 8 74 last 10 games Homeward yesterday. Speaker 2 00:10:41 Yeah, I mean like as much as we like your Rod, we didn't like give him like ra like Speaker 1 00:10:46 No four starting pitches that Speaker 2 00:10:47 Was usable. So he's definitely hittable. So I'm definitely Speaker 1 00:10:50 That. Dozier versus lefties. Does he have any, I know is he probably doesn't have great looking splits in general cuz he hasn't played very well this year, but maybe there's like an eight 50 ops there that we can hang onto. Speaker 2 00:11:00 Let's us see what the split is. Yeah. Hunter Dozier. I don't wanna click on your minor league stats against lefty sitting 2 56, which is better. 7 43 ops, which is better than 6 69. Nice. Actually more power against lefties or against righties rather. Speaker 1 00:11:20 Okay, well we'll memory bank it but maybe Nate eating again the lefty on the mo kind of kills some of the stolen base upside Buty does have. The problem with Bo is we wanna play swore here. So like I we Speaker 2 00:11:30 Well Harold Cash. Yeah Speaker 1 00:11:31 Harold Cash also with third base eligibility. So it's like you spend up for spending up for, we'll Speaker 2 00:11:36 Be able to gets. Yeah I think we'll spend up fors Speaker 1 00:11:39 Because we can, we're not spending up pitch earlier. Bobby Whit versus Iran at six K. Zander's Bondman, Bostons tend to be the chalk here, right? Yeah, Speaker 2 00:11:49 Boston Sacks for sure. The Speaker 1 00:11:50 Chuck Xander's at 53. Andrew said 4k but he's been cool enough finally. Well Speaker 2 00:11:55 Well you skipped over Craig and I just, I wanna backtrack, Speaker 1 00:11:58 I only skipped over Craig cuz you mentioned about wanting to play Gito but if you know, we already have Gordon, so if we're not gonna right, I don't wanna stack against Gito if we're gonna him so Speaker 2 00:12:08 Well, well hold on. So if yeah let's since we're using Gordon, Yeah so these are Gedo splits this year so he's definitely been better against lefties, which obviously hurts our Gordon plate but righties against Lucas Gito, John 3 28 average 5 75 slug 4 0 8 Woba 17 home runs, those are just righties. Yeah one 1.88 home runs for nine innings. His strikeout rate is 22% compared to 31 against left. I mean the guy So would you Speaker 1 00:12:39 Rather play Harold Castro at second and then stick in Korea Speaker 2 00:12:42 Short Speaker 1 00:12:42 Korea? Short Speaker 2 00:12:43 Could, we could see Speaker 1 00:12:45 What it looks like there, you Speaker 2 00:12:47 Know. Yeah, I don't hate that. Speaker 1 00:12:48 Harold Castro at 25 Korea at 48. That does take, I mean again, they're one off place so it's not killing anything we wanted to do. We're in on range sws. Right? I'm just gonna lock Ranger Sws in. Yeah. Speaker 2 00:13:00 Yep. All Speaker 1 00:13:01 Right, so we'll figure out the rest of that afterwards. Outfield only unless there's other short stops. Speaker 2 00:13:06 No I don't see any Speaker 1 00:13:07 Right. Probably. No, I agree with you Outfield. Harper's been terrible. Yep. But he is Bryce Harper so and Asad is Asad. Let's see, Schwarber's at 5k. Riley Green against Heasley could go. Does go towards the, I mean he hasn't been great either, but you have cash throw in a lineup already, right? Like yeah he, so we remember when he said how bad Heasley was and he just dominated the Red Sox. Speaker 2 00:13:32 Yeah, well he does. He starts to go. Yeah but he stinks. The Red Sox just stunk that night. Speaker 1 00:13:37 Look, okay, well stop for a second. Speaker 2 00:13:40 Oh Heasley's been pretty good huh? Speaker 1 00:13:41 He's a pretty good lately he had been horrible earlier in the year. A thousand percent agree. Gets call back up I guess end of August. Pretty good. And the last three starts, three total earn runs a 19 and two thirds innings. Speaker 2 00:13:54 Yeah, shout up. Maybe Jonathan Heasley's turned the corner here. All Speaker 1 00:13:58 Right. He's faced Detroit in one of those starts seven innings, two earned, only two strikeouts in that game though. But Speaker 2 00:14:03 Good find Johnny. Good find is Speaker 1 00:14:06 Heley sneaky Speaker 2 00:14:07 Like I retract, my statement is will he be sneaky against the Tigers? I don't know. Is he actually gonna garner ownership maybe? Well we have to make a decision whether we're either, do we wanna target guys against Gito or guys against Heasely? The more contrarian Speaker 1 00:14:22 I I wanna go guys against Gito, right? Speaker 2 00:14:24 Yeah that's the more contrarian play for sure, right? Yep. Speaker 1 00:14:27 So we'll play. Do we play Heasley then? Speaker 2 00:14:29 Yeah, we could. And we could just play Nick Gordon or the, We have what's the name at third didn't we? Speaker 1 00:14:34 So we have Castro at second, which I'm still fine playing Castro as a one off against our pitcher or we could go, unless we could just go Iran on the other side of that and go with him against Kansas City Speaker 2 00:14:46 Or we could flip it to Nick Gordon at second Speaker 1 00:14:48 Could flip it back to Nick Gordon at second if Speaker 2 00:14:51 We're, you know, just getting yeah down and dirty and just using twins against the Speaker 1 00:14:55 Sure. Back to the outfield though. Scher Harper. Mullens against Aldi. Tommy fan leading off against bombing could be a play. Let's see, Verdugo, you said Homer tonight. He's 4k. He's sitting hitting cleanup too so it's a spot for him. Michael Taylor against e Rodd Lefty for Michael Taylor. 2,900. Speaker 2 00:15:13 Yeah, he is been bad of late but he's, he has gone through like multiple stretches this year where he is looked really good at the plate so, and Speaker 1 00:15:21 His swim against Lefty is are strong too this year I believe. Speaker 2 00:15:24 I don't hate it. I don't really see like a ton that I like I kba do against a re kba Do's been good being called back. Nick Velasquez hit lefties but he's kind of sucked for the Cubs. Hayes has been good over there. Speaker 1 00:15:40 Ling hitting three 14 but it's no, no power. Speaker 2 00:15:43 That's your Speaker 1 00:15:44 Boy. I mean we have $5,300 per player for a catcher out in two outfielders. We just play like real movie against Asad. Speaker 2 00:15:52 Probably been Speaker 1 00:15:52 ORs against the run buts hasn't been good. Verse lefties, right? Isn't Speaker 2 00:15:57 It? No I thinks has been good Against lefties. Against lefties. Let's just confirm Salvador pet against Lefthanded pitching this year and the split tells me John that he, yeah he is hitting well against left. He's 8 39 Ops two 16 ISO 3 55 <inaudible>. Well Speaker 1 00:16:17 I'll throw Sal in a catch cuz we just have the money. Speaker 2 00:16:20 We might just have like leftover on, Speaker 1 00:16:21 I feel like we just play Harper too cuz we have the money. Like I know he hasn't been hitting well but like also he's Bryce Harper or would you rather do Schwarber who also Speaker 2 00:16:30 No sch I think it runs. No Harper's fine. Harper's fine. Speaker 1 00:16:33 All right. That leaves us $4,700. We don't really have any stacks going on here. We have a two man Minnesota at two in Boston. Do you want, do you want do Verdugo? Verdugo? Yeah. Speaker 2 00:16:44 Yeah cuz then it will give us what three, The two four in Boston line or the three us Speaker 1 00:16:48 It us. It gives us 2 46, 2 4 6 Speaker 2 00:16:51 With Cassius. Yeah. And then we have a bunch of, and then we can just get whoever else. Speaker 1 00:16:54 We have 700 bucks left over if we wanted to move, let's see, $700, 30, 600 outfield we move off of, if we moved off of Taylor Speaker 2 00:17:02 We can go JD and just do like a four man Boston. Speaker 1 00:17:05 No we don't have the money. We're 600 short. Speaker 2 00:17:07 Oh sorry Speaker 1 00:17:08 We have 3,600 bucks. We can do Kik. Who hits eighth? Speaker 2 00:17:11 One on off of Austin. Hayes went off of. Do we need to, Speaker 1 00:17:16 That's what I'm saying, like I don't think we need to. Speaker 2 00:17:18 Nah, I don't think we need to. Speaker 1 00:17:20 Okay, we'll go Mike, we'll go back to Taylor here, play somewhere with Perez. Doesn't he hit like six St. Michael Taylor so Speaker 2 00:17:27 Something like that. Yeah. All Speaker 1 00:17:29 Right, so then that's what we got. What's your, what's your home and column on this four game slate? Speaker 2 00:17:33 Aaron Judge, Speaker 1 00:17:34 Not Speaker 2 00:17:35 Honestly I will go what? Red. So is gonna home her here. John Tristan Cassis. Speaker 1 00:17:40 Okay, I was gonna go there but you can go there. I'll go Korea. I'll do it that way. Carlos Korea for me. Tristan Cassis for you. Home run call from the lineup. Sorry, still sorry I stole your thunder in there. No, that's okay. Our current lineup, Ranger Swes and we have, we're going here Jonathan Heasley against Detroit Catcher. We get Sal Perez. We got Tristan CAEs. At first we have Nick Gordon at second Rafi devs at third, Carlos Kare at short, Michael Taylor and the outfield, Bryce Harbor and Alex Verdugo. That is our lineup. Four games, 1:00 PM Start every question. Get us in the discord. James and I will catch you guys later.
